Day 6- Lung Radiation January 23, 2023

January 23, 2023
Here we go again. Last radiation week. Today I go at 11:00. At least it is only 15 minutes. 
 Weigh 108.9 lbs
6:00am- Took my pain killers
6:30am- Took my antacid. 
Had food and took my steroids. 6:45am, 12:45pm 
7:30am- Took pain killer. M
6:30 pm- Took an ibuprofen for my back pain. 

Slept most of the morning. 
When we went to the hospital, they took me in early. It was a quick trip. 
Laid down most of the day. Are solids all day. Steve made a great dinner of salad with a combo of veggies and chick  peas. I really enjoyed it. 
Another week of these wonderful woman sweating in my honour. Thank you all for you support along with those sending many prayers and tributes daily. 

Thank you Natalie for organizing this. 


Also to my youngest grandsons who gave me Cleo and Koala to keep me company every morning.

And the special blanket I received from my oldest. 



9:00pm- Off to bed. 

10:30pm- Woke up to an awful nightmare which Steve consoled me. Had a hard time falling asleep afterward.

December 28-29, 2023 - Pain Control

December 28, 2023 12:00am- I was in lots of pain and couldn’t get comfortable especially when I had to keep getting up to go to the bathroom.  The nurse gave me Hydromorphine ( Dilauded ) for pain with a heated blanket. It just calmed me down.  Today crappy feeling day. I brought up and at least I don’t feel pain now. Just as they gave me Zofran and Tylenol, I brought up.  8:00am- Breakfast came but I couldn’t touch it.  I tried to nibble on a few things.  8:30am- They did bloodwork.  10:00am- My sister came to help out with bathing me and stayed until 1:30pm. I was finally pain free and slept for a couple of hours. She stayed until Steve showed up.  Serge, a physio therapist came to do physio and exercises in bed. He showed me tricks of how to get and in and out of bed. Later Paul, another physio therapist showed up to show me how to go up and down the stairs.  Steve brought home some of my wash. January 22, 2024- Blog message

Some of you may be surprised to hear this message. This is not the easiest blog to write. I haven’t blogged publicly lately because I wanted to be surrounded by my family. I updated my blog today.  On January 18, 2024, I was told my lung cancer is spreading and there is nothing they can now due except to keep me comfortable.  My family needed time to digest the news. They have been helping me get through this whole process. Lung cancer or any cancer is a nasty disease.  I have had so many friends and people reach out to support me through prayers and loving thoughts not even knowing what is happening. I just can’t believe the impact I have had on others.  The good news is  knowing I had no regrets and I have lived life to the fullest. My daughter asked if there was something I wanted to do before I transition and I had nothing to say. I am at peace and ready to receive the Lord.  I am going in McNally house in Grimsby where comfort will be given. It will be one place we will donate mon
