November 9, 2023- Results of blood & CTScan

9:30am- Went to see Dr Wasselman, my oncologist for CT Scan and bloodwork. 
He said the good news is the CT scan looked good and didn’t show cancer in the liver. Although, he is puzzled by my bloodwork. My Alkaline Phosphatase has gone up from 194 to 251  and for some reason the Alanine Amnotransferase has gone up from 49 to 71. He said that usually happens at the beginning of  starting meds. He had me take more liver bloodwork while I was there. Also, he will have me go for a full bone scan and ultrasound of my liver on Monday November 13th. 
I am able to take bone building medication for the osteoporosis. 
I am so blessed and grateful for such support from our healthcare system.

December 28-29, 2023 - Pain Control

December 28, 2023 12:00am- I was in lots of pain and couldn’t get comfortable especially when I had to keep getting up to go to the bathroom.  The nurse gave me Hydromorphine ( Dilauded ) for pain with a heated blanket. It just calmed me down.  Today crappy feeling day. I brought up and at least I don’t feel pain now. Just as they gave me Zofran and Tylenol, I brought up.  8:00am- Breakfast came but I couldn’t touch it.  I tried to nibble on a few things.  8:30am- They did bloodwork.  10:00am- My sister came to help out with bathing me and stayed until 1:30pm. I was finally pain free and slept for a couple of hours. She stayed until Steve showed up.  Serge, a physio therapist came to do physio and exercises in bed. He showed me tricks of how to get and in and out of bed. Later Paul, another physio therapist showed up to show me how to go up and down the stairs.  Steve brought home some of my wash. January 22, 2024- Blog message

Some of you may be surprised to hear this message. This is not the easiest blog to write. I haven’t blogged publicly lately because I wanted to be surrounded by my family. I updated my blog today.  On January 18, 2024, I was told my lung cancer is spreading and there is nothing they can now due except to keep me comfortable.  My family needed time to digest the news. They have been helping me get through this whole process. Lung cancer or any cancer is a nasty disease.  I have had so many friends and people reach out to support me through prayers and loving thoughts not even knowing what is happening. I just can’t believe the impact I have had on others.  The good news is  knowing I had no regrets and I have lived life to the fullest. My daughter asked if there was something I wanted to do before I transition and I had nothing to say.
