Day 5- LD Full brain radiation Feb. 3, 2023

February 3, 202
Last day of radiation. 

4:45am-  Natalie must of heard me wake up and unfortunately witness me bring up. 
As we sat in the sunroom, having our moment, the moon was shining in very bright. Hope that is a good sign to come. 

5:30am- Took my antacid pill followed by my steroids at 6:00am. 

7:30am- Had my last radiation and I rang the “Radiation Celebration Bell”!





11:15am- started a  calcium IV for 15 min and then 2 hrs IV fluids at the hospital. 
They wanted to admit me for the weekend but they will be setting me up for home care to receive IV fluids at home for 5 days starting tomorrow. 

2:15pm- Came home a new woman.  I felt more awake and alert than I have in weeks.

5pm- Ate a small amount of cottage cheese 

6pm- Ate a little pizza and ice cream

    Having Steve and your girls there is such a blessing. Be a good girl and let them be strong for you whenever you are struggling and feeling overwhelmed.

December 28-29, 2023 - Pain Control

December 28, 2023 12:00am- I was in lots of pain and couldn’t get comfortable especially when I had to keep getting up to go to the bathroom.  The nurse gave me Hydromorphine ( Dilauded ) for pain with a heated blanket. It just calmed me down.  Today crappy feeling day. I brought up and at least I don’t feel pain now. Just as they gave me Zofran and Tylenol, I brought up.  8:00am- Breakfast came but I couldn’t touch it.  I tried to nibble on a few things.  8:30am- They did bloodwork.  10:00am- My sister came to help out with bathing me and stayed until 1:30pm. I was finally pain free and slept for a couple of hours. She stayed until Steve showed up.  Serge, a physio therapist came to do physio and exercises in bed. He showed me tricks of how to get and in and out of bed. Later Paul, another physio therapist showed up to show me how to go up and down the stairs.  Steve brought home some of my wash. January 22, 2024- Blog message

Some of you may be surprised to hear this message. This is not the easiest blog to write. I haven’t blogged publicly lately because I wanted to be surrounded by my family. I updated my blog today.  On January 18, 2024, I was told my lung cancer is spreading and there is nothing they can now due except to keep me comfortable.  My family needed time to digest the news. They have been helping me get through this whole process. Lung cancer or any cancer is a nasty disease.  I have had so many friends and people reach out to support me through prayers and loving thoughts not even knowing what is happening. I just can’t believe the impact I have had on others.  The good news is  knowing I had no regrets and I have lived life to the fullest. My daughter asked if there was something I wanted to do before I transition and I had nothing to say. I am at peace and ready to receive the Lord.  I am going in McNally house in Grimsby where comfort will be given. It will be one place we will donate mon
