Day 4 of Brain radiation - January 12, 2023

January 12, 2023 

Didn’t have a good sleep. Some meds keep you up. 
5:45am- I felt sick and brought up phlegm. 
6:30am- Tom my antacid, my nausea pill , ate 1/2 banana and then had my steroid pill. 
7:30am- Steve gave me cereal but I am struggling with it. Can’t wait until we can balance it out. 
Going to try and get more sleep. 

Slept all afternoon before I went for treatment. I couldn’t eat too much. 

Steve cleaned the house. What a man!  ❤️

2:30pm- I took 2 nausea pills and tried to eat a raisin bread and celery. 

3:00pm- Had my 4th brain  Radiation treatment. One more to go tomorrow and I will be so happy since I won’t need to be locked into my mask. 

4:00pm- Great news! First time I didn’t bring up on the way home from radiation. Steve and I were so happy. 

5:30pm-  I actually ate with appetite Orzo Lemon chicken and Kale Soup which my daughters prepared. We have a freezer filled with food however I never had an appetite. I surely appreciate when I feel good. 

I am very tired and am sleeping a lot but the doctor said radiation makes you more tired and that it is good to sleep. Maybe I will look 10 years younger when I am done. 😆

9:00pm-  Off to bed I go with no headache or nausea.

December 28-29, 2023 - Pain Control

December 28, 2023 12:00am- I was in lots of pain and couldn’t get comfortable especially when I had to keep getting up to go to the bathroom.  The nurse gave me Hydromorphine ( Dilauded ) for pain with a heated blanket. It just calmed me down.  Today crappy feeling day. I brought up and at least I don’t feel pain now. Just as they gave me Zofran and Tylenol, I brought up.  8:00am- Breakfast came but I couldn’t touch it.  I tried to nibble on a few things.  8:30am- They did bloodwork.  10:00am- My sister came to help out with bathing me and stayed until 1:30pm. I was finally pain free and slept for a couple of hours. She stayed until Steve showed up.  Serge, a physio therapist came to do physio and exercises in bed. He showed me tricks of how to get and in and out of bed. Later Paul, another physio therapist showed up to show me how to go up and down the stairs.  Steve brought home some of my wash. January 22, 2024- Blog message

Some of you may be surprised to hear this message. This is not the easiest blog to write. I haven’t blogged publicly lately because I wanted to be surrounded by my family. I updated my blog today.  On January 18, 2024, I was told my lung cancer is spreading and there is nothing they can now due except to keep me comfortable.  My family needed time to digest the news. They have been helping me get through this whole process. Lung cancer or any cancer is a nasty disease.  I have had so many friends and people reach out to support me through prayers and loving thoughts not even knowing what is happening. I just can’t believe the impact I have had on others.  The good news is  knowing I had no regrets and I have lived life to the fullest. My daughter asked if there was something I wanted to do before I transition and I had nothing to say. I am at peace and ready to receive the Lord.  I am going in McNally house in Grimsby where comfort will be given. It will be one place we will donate mon
