10:45am- Had an appointment with the Thrombosis centre in Dt Catharine’s. They were running an hour late. After examination, I will continue with blood thinners and get reevaluated in 6 months.
Jan 1, 2023 3:30am- Woke up with a headache. Later I took Ibuprofen and Tylenol which released some of the pain and fell back asleep until 7:00am. My daughters must of cooked enough meals so far to last a month or so. I was able to eat solid foods all day without being nauseous and without just drinking boost. Steve is pushing me to eat so that I don’t loose any weight. He is sure my love and my support. Nice to have caring friends surround us also. Prayers will get me thru this. January 2, 2023 4:30am- I just can’t believe how much I sleep in 24 hrs. The headaches are always there now but at least the Ibuprofen/Tylenol every 8 hrs make it bearable. 10:00am- I felt strong enough to take a shower and have Nicky cut my hair. Before After. February 3, 202 Last day of radiation. 4:45am- Natalie must of heard me wake up and unfortunately witness me bring up. As we sat in the sunroom, having our moment, the moon was shining in very bright. Hope that is a good sign to come. 5:30am- Took my antacid pill followed by my steroids at 6:00am. 7:30am- Had my last radiation and I rang the “Radiation Celebration Bell”! 11:15am- started a calcium IV for 15 min and then 2 hrs IV fluids at the hospital. They wanted to admit me for the weekend but they will be setting me up for home care to receive IV fluids at home for 5 days starting tomorrow. 2:15pm- Came home a new woman. I felt more awake and alert than I have in weeks. 5pm- Ate a small amount of cottage cheese 6pm- Ate a little pizza and ice cream
February 5, 2024 February 5, 2024- Dr Flanigan came for a visit. What a compassionate soul. What a great respite staying at McNally House. I couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. Every nurse, care giver, doctor, coordinator, cleaning and kitchen staff, are so giving.
