Feb 4, 2023- IV time - New Meds

February 4, 2023
 5:00am- Took meds which help ulcers which I need to take on an empty stomach. 

6:00am- Took my antacid pill but brought up a little later.  Still proceeded to take my steroids at 6:am after having some Boost. 

8am - Nicky made me a fruit and protein smoothie which I was able to eat

9am- The doctors setup home IV care for me, but they didn’t have any nurses available to come this weekend, so I mentioned that my Neighbor, who is a nurse and she can do it for me and they approved it.  Look at that sexy nurse!!

This takes 5 hours to drip the whole bag.

Nic and Nat are cleaning the house today!

12pm- took my very first medication that will target the non-small cell lung cancer.  The medication is called Tagrisso.  

1:30pm- took my steroid medication 

4:30pm- took my ulcer medication (trying to see if this might help me with swallowing).  Supposed to help esophagus. 


It was time to cut my hair today because I was losing so much from the radiation.  Nicky cut it for me and did a great job.  She was even able to  cover up all the bald spots. Steve said I look younger with my new pixie cut!


Had diner.
9:00pm- Bedtime.

December 28-29, 2023 - Pain Control

December 28, 2023 12:00am- I was in lots of pain and couldn’t get comfortable especially when I had to keep getting up to go to the bathroom.  The nurse gave me Hydromorphine ( Dilauded ) for pain with a heated blanket. It just calmed me down.  Today crappy feeling day. I brought up and at least I don’t feel pain now. Just as they gave me Zofran and Tylenol, I brought up.  8:00am- Breakfast came but I couldn’t touch it.  I tried to nibble on a few things.  8:30am- They did bloodwork.  10:00am- My sister came to help out with bathing me and stayed until 1:30pm. I was finally pain free and slept for a couple of hours. She stayed until Steve showed up.  Serge, a physio therapist came to do physio and exercises in bed. He showed me tricks of how to get and in and out of bed. Later Paul, another physio therapist showed up to show me how to go up and down the stairs.  Steve brought home some of my wash. January 22, 2024- Blog message

Some of you may be surprised to hear this message. This is not the easiest blog to write. I haven’t blogged publicly lately because I wanted to be surrounded by my family. I updated my blog today.  On January 18, 2024, I was told my lung cancer is spreading and there is nothing they can now due except to keep me comfortable.  My family needed time to digest the news. They have been helping me get through this whole process. Lung cancer or any cancer is a nasty disease.  I have had so many friends and people reach out to support me through prayers and loving thoughts not even knowing what is happening. I just can’t believe the impact I have had on others.  The good news is  knowing I had no regrets and I have lived life to the fullest. My daughter asked if there was something I wanted to do before I transition and I had nothing to say. I am at peace and ready to receive the Lord.  I am going in McNally house in Grimsby where comfort will be given. It will be one place we will donate mon
